I was running around my friend's neighborhood out of boredom while she was taking her hour-long showers; I needed the exercise anyway until I saw a dark and creepy alleyway. I stopped to stare at the end of it. My feet are aching from the long jog. I should’ve brought my shoes. I looked around and noticed that the floor was scattered with trash and broken glass near a door. On top of that door was an exit sign flickering red, making a buzzing noise that reminded me of the freezers at the grocery store, or just simply other old fluorescent lights. My hands felt heavier than two eighty-pound dumbbells tied against my wrist as I stood there. I stared down the empty and dark alleyway, knowing that there was something in the end staring back at me. I looked around until my hair fell on my face, covering my eyes. I take a step back, my hair still covering my eyes. I continue stepping back slowly. The exit sign turned off. It was pitch black. My heart beats rapidly, then I hear glass getting kicked around, following heavy footsteps running towards me. I turn around and bolt in the opposite direction, not even going to turn around to see what is behind me. I see an old and torn-down building up ahead, not too far though.
I make it to the building, and everything looks old and unused. Cobwebs all over the place. Everything is abandoned by the previous owners. From the right side of the door, there is a plastic table with some playing cards on it, and ahead of me, there is a pool table. The floors were made out of old torn-apart wood. I should've bought my shoes. I walk slowly and cautiously to make sure I don’t get a splinter. The floor is very creaky. Suddenly, there was a faint noise coming from behind me. I stand still to locate the sound, I hear it again, but it's coming from below me. I look down, and lift my foot; the floor breaks and I fall. As I go down, I can feel the wind blowing in my face. Though I do admit the breeze feels quite nice.
After what felt like forever, I finally landed on the ground and my back hurt. I roll over and lay on my stomach and attempt to army crawl to a wall so I can lay my back on. I look around, everything is dark. There was a whistle echoing through the underground area I was in. The sounds are getting louder, and louder. There were footsteps not too far from me. I look around and can’t seem to find another way out. I’m trapped.
