Life sucks.
I want a better family.
I want to feel loved.
Not treated like garbage,
And definitely not living in the basement- hidden.
Tired of being beat all the time for doing things wrong,
Sometimes for some things I didn’t even do.
I want to be like the other kids.
Going to school,
Making friends,
Well anything instead of staying here,
All day, all night.
I go to the bathroom in a bucket,
and sleep on the ground
on an old hard mattress
filled with holes all over.
No blanket,
No sheet,
Just how it is.
Everyday I eat bread,
and get one cup of water.
I'm always hungry,
Always thirsty.
Well,
at least she feeds me,
and gives me water.
----------------------------------------------------------------
She never lets me out of here,
Haven’t even seen this thing called grass…
Whatever that is.
I want to escape,
and live the best life.
Not with HER.
She is cruel,
harsh
and insensitive.
In my cell, where I live, it’s a small room with no windows,
well besides the door, it has a window,
a big window actually,
with rusty metal bars covering it.
She used to homeschool me in here when I was little too,
but that just- stopped.
I’ve been thinking about escaping for a while.
Don’t know how, or when I'll even do it.
After some thinking, I have an idea!
I know where the key is but I can't reach it,
It’s underneath the blue and red mat.
I could break the glass window and climb out but that would make too much noise.
and it would hurt.
Plus, even if I escape, what would I even do?
Where would I even go?
I should have planned this before I thought of escaping.
After I get my food, I will try it.
And if it doesn’t work out,
well, then I'm screwed!
I don't really want to try.
But if I want to leave,
I have to try.
I finish my food
and wait for her to go outside.
Since the door is loud,
I will be able to hear it loudly.
I try to break the glass
with all of my body weight,
but it doesn't work.
The only outcome I got,
was an ache in my upper arm.
She comes in running
asking what the noise was,
and all I say was,
I tripped trying to rearrange my room.
She tells me to be more careful,
or else I would get into trouble.
She leaves again,
and I wait a couple minutes,
so she will be gone for good,
and so she can't hear me.
And this time,
I have a better plan.
I use my feet to kick the window,
nothing yet.
I used more force,
with more kicks,
and then it worked.
I have an escape.
I reach over for the key,
Luckily,
I can perfectly reach it.
I grab the key,
I put it in the lock,
and try to remember how she does it.
I fidget with it
until it twists and makes a noise.
It slowly opens,
and I bolt out that door.
Running up the stairs,
I realize that,
i've never seen the upper part of this building.
I see the front door,
red with a window,
and sprint out into the wilderness.
